Worker Accommodation
Container
Construction and civil works projects near Dubai Industrial City, Jebel Ali-Al Hibab Road, and the Abu Dhabi Industrial Area need on-site worker housing that meets UAE Ministry of Human Resources welfare standards.
This 20ft accommodation container houses four workers with sleeping space, lockable personal storage, split AC, and full electrical fit-out. Built at our Sharjah yard, delivered to site, and operational the same day it arrives.

A 20ft Accommodation Container
Built to UAE Welfare Standards
UAE labour law requires contractors to provide proper accommodation for workers on long-duration construction and civil works projects. Temporary shelters and uninsulated containers do not meet the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) welfare standards for worker housing in the UAE.
This project delivered six accommodation containers to a civil works contractor at a site near Dubai Industrial City, off Jebel Ali-Al Hibab Road. Each unit houses four workers with bunk beds, lockable under-bunk storage, a 2.0-ton split AC system, and full LED lighting. The interior stays below 28°C even when outdoor temperatures hit 45°C in UAE summer months.
All six units were fabricated at our SICD yard in Sharjah, loaded on flatbed trucks, and delivered to the Dubai Industrial City site in one consignment. Setup on compacted ground took under two hours per unit.
50mm PU Insulation Keeps Cool at 45°C
All four walls, the ceiling, and the floor are insulated with 50mm polyurethane panels. PU insulation is the correct choice for UAE worker accommodation, it keeps interior temperatures below 28°C even when outdoor air reaches 45°C on Dubai and Abu Dhabi project sites in July and August. It does not absorb moisture, which matters on sites near Jebel Ali Port and the Abu Dhabi coastline.
Steel Bunk Beds with Lockable Storage
Two double-bunk steel frames sit along the long walls. Each bunk has a reading light and a USB charging socket at head height. Under each lower bunk is a lockable steel storage drawer for personal items, no loose furniture that shifts during transport or site moves. The bunk frames bolt to the container wall, they do not move when the unit relocates to a new site.
2.0 Ton Split AC and Full Electrical Fit-Out
A 2.0-ton split AC unit runs on a 32-amp single-phase supply compatible with most site generators across Dubai South, Dubai Industrial City, and the ICAD industrial zones in Abu Dhabi. Four double plug sockets sit at chest height on the interior walls. One DB board distributes power across all circuits. LED ceiling strip lighting covers the full floor area without shadows or hot spots.
Who Orders Worker Accommodation
Containers in the UAE
Any UAE project running more than 25 workers for longer than three months needs on-site welfare accommodation under MOHRE guidelines. Permanent labour camps take months to build and require municipality approval. Container accommodation deploys in days.
Civil Contractors Dubai Industrial City and Jebel Ali
Civil and MEP contractors on long-duration projects within Dubai Industrial City, Dubai South, and the Jebel Ali Industrial Area use accommodation containers to house site teams close to the work. Units sit on compacted gravel, connect to a site generator for power, and link to a water tanker supply. No permanent infrastructure needed.
Industrial Zone Operators Mussafah and ICAD Abu Dhabi
Maintenance contractors, EPC sub-contractors, and industrial facility operators at Mussafah Industrial Area and ICAD in Abu Dhabi use accommodation containers for shift workers and overnight maintenance crews. The units operate year-round. The 50mm PU insulation keeps the interior comfortable without the AC running continuously which reduces generator fuel costs on long-duration site operations.
Road Building Teams
E311 and E22 Corridor Projects
Road construction and utilities teams working on long stretches of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311) and the Abu Dhabi-Al Ain Road (E22) move their accommodation as the work front progresses. A container accommodation unit relocates on a standard flatbed truck in under two hours. No dismantling, no rebuilding, just lift, load, and move to the next camp location.
