What Is a 10-Foot Standard Container?
Compact dry storage built for tight spaces and urban sites
The 10-foot standard container is the smallest unit in the ISO dry freight range. It measures just under 3 metres in length. That makes it the right choice when a 20-foot unit is too large for the available footprint.
At Momentum Containers, our 10-foot units are maintained to CSC standards and delivered from the Sharjah Inland Container Depot (SICD), located off Emirates Road near the Sharjah Industrial Area. We serve project sites across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah.
Industry Note: The 20-foot flat rack is the preferred choice when project cargo is too wide or tall for a standard container but does not require the full length of a 40-foot unit. It is widely used in construction, oil and gas, and steel distribution across the UAE and GCC.
With a payload of 24,000 kg and a maximum gross weight of 30,480 kg, this unit handles dense and concentrated loads, from structural steel bundles and machinery skids to vehicles, pipe sections, and precast concrete elements.
Key Structural Features
Built tough for UAE site conditions
All-Steel Corrugated
Body
Corten steel corrugated panels resist denting, rust, and impact. The floor is hardwood or steel chequer plate depending on unit specification. Forklift pockets are fitted on both base runners.
Lockable Double-Door
Rear Entry
Full-width swing doors at the rear end with lockable cam-lock rods and rubber door seals. The door seal prevents dust ingress, which is critical on active construction sites in the UAE desert environment.
Corner Castings for Lifting
and Stacking
ISO-standard corner castings allow crane lifting with a spreader bar and stacking up to three units high. This matters on busy sites in Dubai South and Dubai Logistics City where ground space is limited.
Where the 10-Foot Container Is Used
Common applications across Dubai, Sharjah, and the wider UAE
